A group of 20 Biggar Ramblers went on a lovely, sunny woodland walk. There are several paths and trails around the woodland with a few benches to sit on and enjoy the stunning views. Some members sat on the Balfour Scott Memorial bench and appreciated the warmth of the sun.

Broughtonknowe Wood offers a huge variety of different plants and animals. The woodland is wonderfully peaceful and quiet. Bird songs could be heard and many birds were spotted near the ponds and feeding areas.

After the walk, the group enjoyed a delicious soup and cheese lunch. Well over £350 was raised in aid of the community buyout of the woodland.
