Biggar Ramblers first walk in June was around Portmore Loch outside of Eddleston on a beautiful day with clear sunshine and a slight cooling breeze. The group walked from the Scots Pine Café up towards Portmore House and then followed the forest track to the loch for a coffee break. Next It wasn around the loch to Loch Wood to enjoy excellent views north to the Pentlands and beyond and south to the border hills including Dollar Law and Culter Fell. Leaving the open hilltop the group entered the forest again to reach the Northshield Rings and a lunch stop. Then the route continued through the forest to rejoin the outward route and back to the Scots Pine Café
